About The Position

Sante Health System is seeking an exceptional Medical Assistant to join our team Full Time with Community Medical Providers in Fresno, CA. This role is responsible for assisting in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants
  • Knowledge of medical practice and care to assist in giving patient care.
  • Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Skill in assisting in a variety of treatments and medications as directed.
  • Skill in taking vital signs.
  • Skill in maintaining records and recording test results.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards including, but not limited to confidentiality.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Exceptional people and communication skills
  • Highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • A commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • A no-task-too-small approach to the work.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs selected nursing and administrative duties, such as referrals and authorizations.
  • Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes patient vital signs.
  • Prepares exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
  • Gives injections, applies splints and dressings.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • Assists physicians in preparing for minor surgeries, physicals.
  • Screens telephone calls for referral to physician or provider.
  • Relays physician communications to patients by phone or mail.
  • Provides general information on departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains patient files, records, and other information.
  • Compiles and condenses technical and statistical data for reports and records.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • Follows all competencies in the CMP MA manual.
