About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral member of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team and works under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. The role involves performing safe clinical skills within the MA-C scope of practice and maintaining ongoing contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients, and their families or caregivers. The position is based at MultiCare Capital Medical Center, a 107-bed community hospital serving Olympia and surrounding communities. The role is listed at 0.9 FTE, with a day shift and a schedule during clinic hours. An advertised $5,000 sign-on bonus is available to external applicants with one year of experience who commit to two years. The compensation range is $24.83–$35.71 USD, with actual pay influenced by factors including skills, experience, certifications, and education.

Requirements

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow with front office staff.
• Interview patients and obtain vital signs.
• Assist patients in preparing for examinations or treatments.
• Collect specimens, including through venipuncture.
• Administer medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency.
• Relay instructions and information to patients and their families or caregivers.
• Send and receive patient medical records.
• Facilitate patient referrals.
• Prepare forms for patients.
