About The Position

Performs basic nursing skills and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician and/or registered nursing staff. The role supports patient visits through rooming, obtaining initial information and vital signs, preparing examination rooms, assisting with examinations and procedures, and providing follow-up education. It also includes appointment scheduling, referral coordination, maintaining quality-control logs and equipment, helping patients complete medical documentation, and performing office administrative tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or one year of experience in a clinical setting.
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
Ability to use and care for equipment, including printers, embossers, and computers.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
Ability to adapt to changing environments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.

Nice To Haves

Completion of healthcare education coursework.
One year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Greet and escort patients to exam rooms; obtain initial information and vital signs in preparation for physician visits.
Prepare exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and the availability of supplies.
Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
Schedule appointments and arrange referral contacts as needed.
Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
Educate patients about follow-up expectations.
Maintain quality-control testing logs as required.
Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
Perform office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, assisting with cash deposits, and other closing duties.
