About The Position

Corewell Health is offering a $3,000 sign-on bonus for this opportunity! Sign-On Bonus for External applicants or current CHW MA Apprentice Students only. Our Family Medicine practice delivers high-volume, patient-centered primary care with a strong focus on access, efficiency, and preventive health. The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) by providing both clinical and administrative support that ensures smooth daily operations and exceptional patient experiences. In this role, the Medical Assistant is responsible for rooming patients, answering phones, prepare charts ahead of visits and close care gaps, monitoring incoming patient messages, point of care testing and administering medications and immunizations. Additional responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, maintaining efficient patient flow, and assisting with clinical procedures such as EKGs and wound care. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with electronic health records are essential, as this position manages inbasket tasks, refill requests, and prior authorization preparation. While the role is primarily based in Family Medicine, the Medical Assistant will also provide occasional support to our adjoining Internal Medicine department, fostering collaboration and continuity of care across practices. About Outpatient Clinics Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Successful completion of a hands-on competency-based medical assistant training program Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
