About The Position
The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.
Requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
- Maintain patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Collect breaths for breath tests once initiated by RN or CMA.
- Perform prior authorization process.
- Prep charts for visits and procedures.
- Assist with minor procedures such as flexible sigmoidoscopy, rectal ultrasound, and high resolution anoscopy.
- Perform and maintain competency of high level disinfection and sterilization processes.
