About The Position

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Medical Assistant to support medical and nursing staff in providing care and comfort to patients aged infant through young adult during outpatient clinic appointments. This role involves performing routine clinical and clerical tasks, including phlebotomy and assisting with cast application and removal. Requirements

Basic Life Support (BLS) within three months

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
High School Diploma / GED
Two years' experience as a Medical Assistant
Two years' pediatric care experience
American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

Responsibilities

Assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical record
Works with and under the direction of the RN
Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes.
Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
Assists in cast room as needed
Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies
Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed
