About The Position

On Demand Counseling is seeking a motivated, dependable Medical Assistant to support its outpatient counseling and recovery-focused services at its office in Austintown, Ohio. The Medical Assistant supports clinical operations by providing direct patient care, assisting providers, and helping ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience in a medium- to fast-paced setting.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a BCI/FBI background check and pre-employment drug screen.
• Experience with medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant certification (preferred, but not required).
• Phlebotomy experience.
• Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Responsibilities

• Perform patient intake and triage, take vital signs, and update medication lists and medical history.
• Provide clinical support including venipuncture, injections, vaccines, EKGs, wound care, and urinalysis (observed collections).
• Assist with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) workflows and patient support.
• Document accurately in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and maintain compliance.
• Coordinate patient flow, scheduling support, referrals, and front- and back-office tasks.
• Communicate with patients, families, and the care team to support patient-centered care.
• Follow infection control and safety protocols.
