About The Position

The Community Medicine Clinic is in the heart of downtown and serves the community with dedicated Physicians and APP’s committed to providing comprehensive care for patients. It is a safe and affirming clinic that takes pride in the strong relationships built with patients, their families, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and compassionate environment. The clinic offers numerous resources for patients, including pharmacists, community health workers, population health nurses, RN case managers, nurse triage, physical therapy, and behavioral health services. A food and clothing pantry is available for patients with social determinant needs. Lab services are also offered to established patients at the clinic. The support staff includes registered nurses (RNs), medical assistants/ambulatory clinical technicians (MA/ACTs), ambulatory clinical clerical technicians (ACCTs), and patient service representatives (PSRs). MAs assist with patient care, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting in procedures. Candidates should be adaptable, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational and communication skills, playing a crucial role in the smooth operation of the office and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent Required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days
  • One of the following Required within 120 Days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

Nice To Haves
