About The Position

Westlake Dermatology has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support a provider at our Round Rock office. This position will change location in December 2026. The candidate must possess strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills, with the ability to multitask. Prior EHR (EMA) experience is a plus. Prior dermatology, Mohs, or plastic surgery experience is preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma plus either completion of a college degree or a Medical Assistant program.
Excellent communication skills.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.
Well-organized with attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Empathetic with patient needs and concerns.
Ability to work well with provider, anticipating their needs in regard to patient treatment.
Knowledge of medical and skin care terminology.
Proficient with general computer skills.
Able to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

Prior EHR (EMA) experience.
Prior dermatology, Mohs, or plastic surgery experience.
Medical assistant certification.
1-2 years of prior experience in a dermatology or cosmetic/surgical clinic setting working as a medical assistant or clinical assistant.

Responsibilities

Assisting the physician with patient care, including obtaining history, chief complaint, and consents.
Assisting with cosmetic procedures (including Botox, fillers, etc.).
Preparing exam rooms.
Escorting patients to rooms and preparing them for the provider.
Assisting in patient education regarding aftercare protocols and what to expect after treatment.
EHR charting.
Stocking of rooms.
Turnover of rooms.
Reviewing and managing the schedule to ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately.
Ensuring supplies needed for procedures are available.
