About The Position

Corewell Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Adult Pediatric Congenital Cardiology practice at the HDVCH Congenital Heart Center in Grand Rapids. The practice specializes in congenital heart disease and serves patients from before birth through end of life. Medical assistants work in pods with another medical assistant or an ACT, supporting providers through a daily rotation of two to three providers. The clinical team performs chart preparation, EKGs for most patients, and places cardiac monitors when ordered during clinic.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training, or at least one year of experience working specifically as a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic, or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.
• Obtain one of the following within 120 days: AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), or NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
