About The Position

Logan Health Genetics & Genomics is seeking a Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant to join their patient-focused team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys meaningful patient and family interactions, values collaboration, and is interested in supporting a specialized area of healthcare. The team provides compassionate, specialized care to patients and families through the evaluation and management of genetic conditions. The Medical Assistant will work closely with providers and other members of the care team while helping create a welcoming, organized, and supportive experience for patients and families.

Requirements

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through an accredited certifying organization.
  • OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through an accredited certifying organization.
  • RQI Provider (BLS) within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or before providing independent patient care, whichever comes first.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in a medical practice setting preferred.
  • Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, basic laboratory values, pharmacology, infection control practices, and HIPAA requirements preferred.
  • Previous experience in a specialty clinic or working with patients and families navigating complex care needs is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to professionalism, patient confidentiality, and exceptional patient care.
  • Ability to act with integrity, kindness, and empathy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software systems as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Greet, room, and prepare patients for appointments, including obtaining medical histories and vital signs.
  • Assist providers with examinations, treatments, and other clinical needs while maintaining patient comfort and privacy.
  • Collect laboratory specimens, perform competency-validated clinical tasks, and accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate patient care activities including referrals, diagnostic and genetic testing, prior authorizations, scheduling, and follow-up appointments.
  • Support communication with patients and families regarding appointments, testing, and care coordination.
  • Support daily clinic operations by maintaining exam rooms, equipment, and supplies while assisting with patient calls and portal communications.
