Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • BLS certification required within 18 months of hire.
  • Newly hired team members with a minimum of one (1) year of Medical Assistant experience or graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program will be required to complete certification within 90 days of hire.
  • If a new team member is hired with no Medical Assistant experience than they will have to obtain the certification within 90 days after obtaining the one (1) year of required Medical Assistant experience.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) to two (2) years continuous experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors with a friendly smile, figure out their needs, and connect them to the right team members.
  • Handle phone calls with professionalism and direct them to the right person.
  • Get patients ready for exams by gathering histories, checking vitals, and managing medications.
  • Set up and keep treatment rooms spotless and fully stocked.
  • Administer vaccines, apply dressings, and perform various treatments like suture removal.
  • Triage patient calls for follow-up with nurses or physicians.
  • Manage drug refills, provide prescription info, and order essential supplies.
  • Complete insurance forms, maintain medical records, and handle correspondence.
  • Route messages and documents swiftly and accurately, and transcribe patient interactions into medical records.
