About The Position

Coastal Health Spine & Pain is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our team in Fernandina Beach. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with patients, thrives in a fast-paced medical environment, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care and exceptional service.

Requirements

  • Previous Medical Assistant experience preferred
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred
  • Experience in a specialty practice, orthopedics, pain management, or similar clinical setting is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Professional, dependable, and compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records and computer systems
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a specialty practice, orthopedics, pain management, or similar clinical setting is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs and medical histories
  • Preparing patients for examinations and procedures
  • Assisting providers during patient visits and procedures
  • Documenting patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Reviewing medications and updating patient records
  • Coordinating patient flow and helping maintain an efficient clinic schedule
  • Assisting with injections and other clinical procedures as directed and within scope of practice
  • Preparing and maintaining examination rooms and clinical supplies
  • Providing patients with instructions and education as directed by the provider
  • Communicating professionally and compassionately with patients and their families
  • Assisting with referrals, follow-up appointments, and other clinical tasks
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with HIPAA and office policies
  • Performing other clinical and administrative duties as needed
