About The Position

Sunrise Dermatology, part of the AQUA Dermatology portfolio, provides comprehensive dermatologic care in South Alabama and along the Gulf Coast. The Medical Assistant assists providers during patient visits, including consultations and surgical procedures, and helps deliver quality patient care. The role is based in Mobile and may require travel between locations. The ideal candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, dependable, organized, able to multitask, compassionate, and able to communicate effectively. Candidates with clinical experience are preferred, and the employer will train the right candidate.

Requirements

Demonstrate compassion and care when dealing with patients and coworkers.
Prioritize tasks, understand provider instructions, and know when to seek information or advice.
Have proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Be able to travel between locations.
Have hands-on experience in a clinical setting; the employer will train the right candidate.

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license, or LPN qualification.
Dermatology or surgical experience.

Responsibilities

Assist providers in delivering quality patient care.
Greet and prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
Provide side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures.
Assist with instrument sterilization and keep examination rooms clean and organized.
Review medical histories and accurately and confidentially maintain patient records and documentation, including notes in the EMR system.
Obtain appropriate consents when necessary.
Call in prescriptions, return patient calls, and handle administrative duties as needed.
