About The Position

Ozarks Community Hospital (OCH) in Springfield, MO, is looking for a Spravato Medical Assistant (MA) to join their Medical Department. The hospital's mission is to provide exceptional healthcare and preventive services with compassion, respect, and dignity, focusing on improving access to care for the underserved. The Medical Assistant will provide patient care in an office setting, addressing the psychosocial, physical, and communication needs of patients and their families. This role operates under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, physician, and clinic manager, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and organizational policies. The MA will also communicate patient conditions, diagnostic results, and symptoms to physicians and team members.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Recertification required before expiration throughout employment.
• Float positions require a Valid Driver's License.
• If float, valid Driver's License required. This requires a Motor Vehicle Driving Record Background Check to be completed during the onboarding new hire process and throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of related experience working in a medical clinic or office, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care in the office setting.
• Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care.
• Meets the communication needs of patient and family.
• Provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations.
• Maintains regulatory requirements, nursing and office policies, procedures and standards.
• Communicates with physicians and team members about patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
