Medical Assistant - Spravato Clinic
About The Position
Open Door Health Services is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support our growing Spravato Clinic at our Madison St. location in Muncie, Indiana. As an Open Door Medical Assistant, you will be part of a supportive, interdisciplinary team providing high-quality, compassionate care to individuals and families. Medical assistants perform a variety of patient care activities to support and assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and other medical staff. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Open Door Health Services provides comprehensive primary, urgent, preventive, and select specialty services and social support programs for individuals and families, regardless of their ability to pay. Our patients represent diverse backgrounds, life experiences, capacities, and orientations.
Requirements
- Medical assistant certification or at least one year work experience in healthcare
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR & first aid certification
Nice To Haves
- MA certification preferred
- At least one year of work experience in healthcare clinic/office if not certified
Responsibilities
- Prepare the patient for the provider by getting vital signs and the patient’s primary complaint.
- Conduct additional testing and screenings.
- Brief provider on patient’s data and status.
- Administer prescribed medications, immunizations and treatments as ordered.
- Assist in screening telephone calls for referrals, lab results and prescription refills.
- Perform quality checks and sterilize, clean, and stock exam rooms.
