About The Position

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Medical Assistant/Scribe to join our team! JOB SUMMARY: Medical Assistant: Responsible for assisting physician with patient care, clerical and clinical. Convey a positive image of the clinic. Collect, process routine testing, and returning results back to doctor. Provide good customer service on the phone, patients, doctors and other medical staff. Work well under pressure and prioritize. Perform CLIA waived moderate testing. Patient referrals, pulling charts, filing, cleaning/wrapping instruments, stocking rooms, reconcile labs, rooming patients taking vitals and history. Answering telephones, reviewing, and assigning faxes. Healthy connection referrals/eligibility, collection calls, prior authorizations, checking patients in/out at the front desk collecting pertinent information. Collecting and processing payments, scanning and discharging, answering phones, posting charges, some coding/billing, medical records, blood draws and giving injections. Scribe: Primary role is to assist a physician in creating and maintaining a patient’s medical record, though a scribe may assist the physician in other ways. Provide service excellence based on patient care and patient relationships. Functions as an effective team member with teamwork being the core approach whether doing order entry or providing patient care. Enters Provider medication and lab orders accurately and efficiently. The Scribe communicates with Providers and other medical staff, about patient’s lab and medication orders. Effectively provides a quality level of service to both internal and external customers and carries out tasks as delegated by Providers and Supervisors. Provide/support patient care by performing tasks and duties consistent with regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards. Additionally, is able to perform general duties in all areas within the clinic with adequate supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Current BLS
  • Experience with computers and office equipment
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
  • Must understand medical terminology
  • General Math skills
  • Ability to make sound judgments
  • Must be organized, multi-tasker, and a critical thinker
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
  • Good communication skills, and ability to work well with others
  • Team player and flexible
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Good customer service skills
  • Basic computer knowledge along with basic knowledge of CPSI and patient scheduling
  • Must be able to handle/defuse conflict issues with patients, their families and staff

Nice To Haves

  • At least 6 months experience working directly with Physicians in a clinical setting
  • Bilingual
