About The Position

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year experience working as a medical assistant in a clinical setting, preferably in orthopedics or related specialty.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
- Experience working in an orthopedic or bone and joint clinic environment.
- Additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or EKG Technician.
- Familiarity with orthopedic terminology, procedures, and rehabilitation protocols.
- Strong customer service skills and experience in patient education.
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to the patient population served.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, medical histories, and documenting symptoms.
- Assist physicians during clinical procedures, including casting, splinting, and administering injections as directed.
- Manage patient records, ensuring accurate and timely documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to specialists or diagnostic services.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care, medication instructions, and rehabilitation protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment by adhering to infection control and safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support coordinated care.
