About The Position

Preferred Primary Care Physicians is seeking a Full-Time Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant for their office in McDonald, PA. The ideal candidate will be skilled in phlebotomy, capable of handling both clinical and administrative tasks, possess excellent communication and time management skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assisting physicians and nurses with patient care, scheduling, and electronic chart management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of medical assistant.
  • Skilled in phlebotomy.
  • Able to work both clinical and administrative sides of office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Three (3) years of medical assistant experience in a medical practice setting preferred.
  • Open to new graduate applicants.

Responsibilities

  • Escort patients to and from exam or treatment rooms.
  • Record patient data including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medications, chief complaint, and reason for visit.
  • Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as directed by the physician.
  • Answer and return patient phone calls, contact pharmacies for prescriptions, and handle other patient telephone calls as directed.
  • Obtain necessary patient record information, lab data, and diagnostics for physician or nurse assessment.
  • Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites in accordance with OSHA and universal safety precautions.
  • Assist with exams and procedures as requested.
  • Assist with scheduling tests, procedures, or appointments.
  • Prepare, maintain, and stock exam and treatment rooms, and order supplies as needed.
  • Obtain new patient information and test results.
  • Assist with administrative duties such as typing, faxing, and reception.
  • Process instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Inform physician of patient reschedule or no-shows.
  • Assist with delegated patient education activities.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the physician, nurse, or office manager.
