Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant – Highland Park Kellogg Cancer Center - Days
About The Position
This position is for a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant at the Highland Park Kellogg Cancer Center. The role involves providing administrative and clinical support within a physician practice. The hours are full-time, 40 hours per week, with shifts varying Monday through Friday between 6:45 am and 6 pm. No weekends or holidays are required. The schedule will be based on clinical needs. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
- CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
- One year of work experience required
Nice To Haves
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred
- Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred
- Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
Responsibilities
- Answer phones
- Schedule appointments
- Collect co-payments
- Complete patient registration
- Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
- Check in and check out patients
- Verify insurances
- Greet patients and escort them to exam room
- Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
- Provide front office support as needed
- Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
- Phlebotomy and injections may be required
