About The Position

The Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA) will work within the Medical Group Breast Surgery team at Swedish Hospital. This full-time position involves providing administrative and clinical support to a physician practice, ensuring efficient patient flow and excellent patient care. The role requires flexibility in hours and some travel to other locations to meet operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience required
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred
• On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
