About The Position

This dual-role position as a Medical Assistant / Patient Support Assistant in the Gastroenterology (GI) department involves both administrative and clinical support. The role is full-time, 40 hours per week, with varying hours typically falling between Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, usually in 8-hour shifts. The position requires travel to multiple locations within the Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Schaumburg, and Kildeer areas, and necessitates flexible hours to meet operational demands. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required
• Previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patients
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform full vital signs
• Injections may be required
