Gastroenterology & Hepatology Specialists, Inc. is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant/Patient Scheduler to join their team in Canton, OH. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant required
• BLS certified required
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology required
• Previous experience working as a Scheduler
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working in a medical office environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for procedures at clinic, ASC, and hospital along with radiology and lab work
• Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart, if applicable
• Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, as applicable
• Obtain, verify, and record health history of patients
• Assist the physician with office visits
• Assist physician in an emergency, if applicable
• Manage patient prescriptions as directed by physician
• Manage referrals as directed by physician
• Answer patient questions
• Notify patients of test results
• Schedule Research Patients
