About The Position

As an Outreach Clinic Medical Assistant for Swope Health, you will be part of a team of caregivers to provide care for the people who need it most. You are responsible for receiving and preparing patients for medical examinations and treatment. This includes recording vital signs, medical history, and social history, assisting the provider with the examinations and treatment, and entering clinical data into the Electronic Health Record system. Under the general supervision of a Medical Provider, you will perform general medical services such as medication administration, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You are a critical part of the patient-centered medical team providing quality, accessible, and safe healthcare. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program OR 2 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital (may be initially substituted for certification, but certification may be a future requirement)
  • Graduated from an accredited medical assistant program OR 5 years of experience in a private office, ambulatory care clinic, or hospital (may be initially substituted for certification, but courses and certification will be a future requirement)
  • Certified by one of the following: NRCMA, RMA, CMA, NCMA, CCMA
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certified, or able to be obtained within 3 months of hire
  • Ability to work with people (staff, visitors, and clients)
  • Willing to travel to all Swope Satellite Clinics and temporary testing sites if needed

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and preparing patients for medical examinations and treatment
  • Recording vital signs, medical history, and social history
  • Assisting the provider with examinations and treatment
  • Entering clinical data into the Electronic Health Record system
  • Performing general medical services such as medication administration, and diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Providing quality, accessible, and safe healthcare as part of a patient-centered medical team
