About The Position

This Medical Assistant position in Orthopedics offers a dynamic role where you will gain specialized clinical experience. You will work closely with physicians, APPs, imaging, therapy, and other clinical teams within an established Orthopaedics department. The role involves supporting patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions throughout their treatment, procedures, and recovery. The fast-paced environment and exposure to various orthopaedic needs ensure an engaging daily experience. You will have the opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with patients as you support them from injury and diagnosis through treatment and recovery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
• CPR certification or willingness to become certified upon hire required
• May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
• Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA or EMT, or two years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care

Nice To Haves

• Active medical assistant certification through one of the following: American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history
• Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures
• Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections
• Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
• Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests
• Maintain clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
• Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values
• Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required
