About The Position

Adena Health is hiring a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for its Gastroenterology clinic in Chillicothe, Ohio. This full-time position is scheduled for 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The role supports providers with daily clinical operations and patient care, including preparing patients for clinic visits and endoscopic procedures. The position offers hourly pay based on years of experience and education.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in a medical office or similar capacity.
• For candidates acting in the Scribe role, 1–2 years of experience in a similar capacity.

Nice To Haves

• Medical office experience is preferred.
• Direct patient care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with daily clinical operations.
• Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories.
• Reconcile medications and document in the electronic medical record.
• Provide patient education.
• Process prescription refill requests.
• Coordinate referrals and diagnostic testing.
• Prepare patients for clinic visits and endoscopic procedures.
• Perform telephone triage.
• Provide scheduling support and assist with registration workflows.
• Maintain clinical supplies and follow infection prevention practices.
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary team members.
