About The Position

Franciscan Health Carmel is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN for Clay Township Family Medicine. This is a full-time position with a consistent day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, and observed holidays off. The position involves providing direct patient care in outpatient settings, including rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining medical history, documenting care in an electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing, and medication reconciliation under the supervision of an RN/Provider. Additionally, the role requires gathering requirements from internal and external customers and providing information via phone, electronic messaging, and in person. The position also involves initiating and following through on prior authorizations, referrals, and processing sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Program Medical Assisting or 5 years of medical assistant experience in lieu of program
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Allied Health
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants
  • Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients
  • Taking vitals
  • Obtaining a comprehensive medical history
  • Document care of patient via electronic medical record
  • Administering vaccines, injections, and medications
  • Phlebotomy
  • Point of care testing
  • Medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider
  • Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person
