About The Position

This full-time position in Family Medicine is responsible for supporting providers, connecting with patients, and ensuring a seamless, compassionate patient experience. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, the Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse will welcome patients, take and record vital signs, prepare patients for exams, assist providers during procedures, administer medications and vaccines, perform lab-related tasks, and document care in the electronic health record. The role involves partnering with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Requirements

  • LPN: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
  • MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
