About The Position

Patriot Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse (MA/LPN) to join their team in Rockville, MD. This role is crucial in ensuring a high quality and consistent approach to patient care, acting as the liaison between patients and medical providers. The ideal candidate will be caring, courteous, efficient, detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, be competent in medical best practices, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. The MA/LPN will provide exceptional support to providers and the team to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment.

Requirements

Must provide proof of current certification if a CMA.
Must provide proof of current certification if an LPN.
Two years of clinical experience preferred.
Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate.
BLS/CPR certification required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service and problem-solving / communication skills.
Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR system.
Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.

Medical Assistant (Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or a certificate of completion from your school is preferred, but not required)

Responsibilities

Perform clinical intake including obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications, chief complaint, obtain vital signs and records information within EMR system.
Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood and assist provider with any procedures in/out of exam room.
Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions.
Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory.
Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
Complete medical charting to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
