About The Position

Patriot Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant (CMA/EMT/LPN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team in Germantown, MD. This role is crucial in ensuring a high quality and consistent approach to patient care, acting as the liaison between patients and medical providers. The ideal candidate will be caring, courteous, efficient, detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, be competent in medical best practices, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. This position supports providers and the team to ensure a seamless flow between examination and treatment.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant (Certified, Certified Clinical, Registered, or a certificate of completion from your school is preferred, but not required)
  • Proof of current certification is needed if you are a CMA.
  • Nurse (LPN) Must provide proof of current certification.
  • Two years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Ability to escort or transport a patient by wheelchair when appropriate.
  • BLS/CPR certification required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving / communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of EMR system.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical intake including obtaining patient’s medical history, current medications, chief complaint, obtain vital signs and records information within EMR system.
  • Administer medications, dress/bandage wounds, draw blood and assist provider with any procedures in/out of exam room.
  • Perform diagnostic tests including eye exams, electrocardiograph, audiogram, peak flow, and other basic nursing functions.
  • Perform both DOT and Non-DOT urine drug screens, using proper chain of custody; ensure preparation for pick-up and shipment to appropriate laboratory.
  • Monitor disposable inventory, medical supplies, and pharmaceuticals.
  • Complete medical charting to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
