About The Position

SMG Family Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant non-certified in Dumfries, VA! This role involves performing patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under the supervision of a healthcare provider. The Medical Assistant will assist with procedures based on their training and competency evaluations. The position is Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, with shift times varying from 8 AM to 5 PM. Occasional floating to other locations may be required. Phlebotomy experience is highly preferred.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
One year of clinical/administrative experience required.
Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Certification must be received within (9) nine months of employment in one of the following certification programs: CCMA- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or CMA- Certified Medical Assistant or RMA- Registered Medical Assistant or EMT- Emergency Medical Technician.
BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Performs patient care and administrative and clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations.
Works under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Occasional float as needed.
