About The Position

The Toledo Clinic's Nephrology Office in Perrysburg, Ohio is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. This position will involve working in the Perrysburg and Toledo offices, with travel to other offices as needed. The hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Qualified candidates must have obtained or be able to obtain an RMA/CMA/CCMA credential within 60 days of employment. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants, payable within 30 days of hire to those with active and verified credentials. For those who have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. Additionally, after one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for a $2,000 Retention Bonus.

Requirements

Excellent interpersonal skills required.
Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA,CCMA or RMA)
Travel to different office locations is required.
Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.

Nice To Haves

Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist physician(s) with patient treatment, prepares patient for physician(s), and performs various clerical duties.
Assist Drs. with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
Escorting patients to exam room.
Preparing exam rooms.
Preparing patient for Drs. (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
Follow up with lab work and/or xrays.
Administering injections.
Other duties as assigned.
