About The Position

The Toledo Clinic's Nephrology Office in Findlay, Ohio is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. This position will primarily be based in the Findlay Office, with travel to the Bowling Green office required approximately 4 days per month. The hours for this role are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Qualified candidates must possess or be able to obtain an RMA/CMA/CCMA credential within 60 days of employment. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants, payable within 30 days of hire to those with active and verified credentials. For those who have not yet obtained their credential, the bonus is payable upon verification. Additionally, after one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for a $2,000 Retention Bonus.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Consistently arrives at work, in professional attire, on time and completes all tasks within established time frame.
  • Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
  • Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
  • Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA, CCMA or RMA).
  • Must be able to obtain credential within 60 days of employment.
  • Travel to different office locations is required.
  • Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school required.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical medical assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physicians with patient treatment, preparing patients for examinations, and performing various clerical duties.
  • Assist doctors with patient care, including minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, and moles.
  • Perform various clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient charts.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms.
  • Prepare exam rooms.
  • Prepare patients for doctor's examinations by taking histories, blood pressure, and vitals.
  • Sterilize and prepare instruments.
  • Call in prescription refills at the request of the physician.
  • Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
  • Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
  • Administer injections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
