About The Position

Toledo Clinic's Nephrology Department is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative duties in a fast paced office. This position will work Monday-Thursday (8:00-4:30) and Friday (8:00-2:00). Qualified candidates will have an active MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or the ability to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment. Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.

Requirements

• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
• Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).
• Medicare Exclusion List.
• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.

• Clinical medical assisting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various clerical duties.
• Assist providers with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
• Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
• Escorting patients to exam room.
• Preparing exam rooms.
• Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
• Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
• At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
• Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
• Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
• Administering injections.
