About The Position

Medical Assistant (MA) - Digestive and Liver Specialists. This is a Full Time position with Day shifts. Marquette General Hospital, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Clinic MA to join their team. The role is vital in making communities healthier. The MA will assist with patient assessments and treatments under supervision, perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, monitor and communicate patient condition changes, document patient care, maintain equipment and supplies, and perform administrative duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of accredited medical assistance program or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtain within 60 days of hire.
• One-year related experience, preferred.
• One year clinic experience, preferred.
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• This is Fast paced, busy clinic. Large group of physicians

Responsibilities

• Under the supervision of physician or nurse, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties an assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
