About The Position
This PRN Float Pool position offers flexibility for Medical Assistants (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to work across multiple Witham Medical Group locations in Lebanon, IN, and surrounding areas. Medical Assistants work under the direct authority of a physician in an outpatient setting, performing delegated tasks such as collecting patient data (vital signs, EKGs), venipuncture/phlebotomy, and administering injections (including immunizations/vaccinations). They are a contributing member of the multidisciplinary health care team. Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible for providing professional nursing care and are also contributing members of the multidisciplinary health care team, communicating patient needs to all disciplines involved in care.
Requirements
- Graduate from a medical assistants program.
- Hold a valid diploma or current certification to practice as a medical assistant.
- Graduate from a licensed practical nursing program.
- Hold a valid license to practice Nursing in the State of Indiana.
- CPR at first available opportunity at WHS.
Nice To Haves
- Certification preferred for Medical Assistants.
- Previous work experience is desired but training will be provided for a qualified candidate (MA).
- Previous experience is desired but training will be provided (LPN).
- Computer experience helpful.
Responsibilities
- Collection of patient data including recording vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, respirations, pulse and electrocardiograms).
- Venipuncture/phlebotomy (per CLIA quality control regulations).
- Administering intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections including immunizations/vaccinations.
- Communicating the needs of the patient/significant others to all disciplines involved in the patient's care.
