About The Position

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their Float Pool. This role involves providing direct patient care and healthcare information to patients and families under the supervision of a licensed professional. The LPN will float to various outpatient clinics across different Vanderbilt Health locations, including the Main Campus, 100 Oaks, and surrounding areas. The position is Monday through Friday, with options for 36 or 40 hours per week. This role is crucial in supporting the healthcare team and ensuring patients receive quality care aligned with VUMC standards and licensure regulations.

Requirements

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
  • BLS/licensure required.
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program.
  • Relevant Work Experience.
  • Less than 1 year of experience.
  • Clinical Patient Documentation (Novice).
  • LPN Patient Education (Novice).
  • LPN Care Planning (Novice).
  • Clinical Competency (Novice).

Responsibilities

  • Supports the licensed healthcare team members in the provision of patient care to include direct patient care.
  • Provides healthcare information to patients/families.
  • Follows the established plan of care under the delegation/supervision of a licensed professional.
  • Collaborates with patients/families and health care providers in the delivery of health care services.
  • Partners with the healthcare team by following established plan of care to ensure patient progress for effective outcomes.
  • Supports plans to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
  • Performs nursing interventions such as wound care, point of care testing, and vital signs.
  • Contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data.
  • Participates in the development of the plan of care in consultation with the licensed healthcare team.
  • Provides guidance to entry-level co-workers.
