About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who will float between general pediatrics and pediatric subspecialties. The home site is Greenfield, but travel across central and SE Wisconsin is required to support physicians needing assistance. The role involves direct patient care, including taking vital signs, assisting with exams, administering medications, performing lab tasks, and documenting care in the electronic health record. The position is part of the ambulatory care team and emphasizes collaboration and compassionate patient experience.

Requirements

  • MA: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which the team member practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days unless department leader has determined it is not required.
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • MA: Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
  • LPN: Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and support their transition into care.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings.
  • Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed.
  • Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing.
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
