About The Position
Medical Assistants and/or Licensed Vocational Nurses perform duties under the supervision of a physician. They interview patients and prepare them for provider exams and treatment, measure vital signs and record information in the EHR system. They also prepare treatment rooms for examinations, assist physicians with procedures, clean and sterilize instruments, and administer injections to patients. Additionally, they coordinate discharge planning and follow-up care of patients.
Requirements
- High School Education or equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant or equivalent years of experience or Current Licensure with The Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Obtains and maintains American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of employees, management, visitors and outside sources
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license and current insurance coverage
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of: Background Check, Lab Work, Immunization Records
Nice To Haves
- 1 to 2 years previous physician's office experience
- Experience scheduling surgeries and getting insurance benefits with authorizations
- Bilingual preferred
