About The Position

The Medical Assistant supports providers in delivering patient care and managing clinic workflow. The role includes clinical and administrative duties and assists patients of all ages, from infants to older adults. Candidates may qualify under either the Medical Assistant requirements or the LPN requirements. BLS certification and clinical setting experience are required.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant candidates must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Medical Assistant candidates must have graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program (ABHES or CAAHEP), or completed an eligible Registered Medical Assistant program, have qualifying work experience, and pass the RMA certification exam.
• LPN candidates must have an active Minnesota Practical Nurse (PN) license at the time of submission.
• Current BLS certification.
• Clinical setting experience.
• Candidates who have already applied directly to the position are not eligible for agency onboarding; this must be verified before submitting a candidate.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and assist with clinic flow.
• Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by providers.
• Collect laboratory specimens and perform phlebotomy as needed.
• Perform clinic laboratory tests.
• Provide telephone and front desk support.
• Facilitate communication between patients and providers.
• Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations.
• Perform X-ray duties if qualified and authorized.
• Order and stock supplies.
• Communicate patient concerns and updates to the healthcare team.
