This role is responsible for delivering patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation. The Medical Assistant/LPN will assist with various procedures, exams, and diagnostic equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques during preparation, procedures, and medication administration. They will administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under the direction of providers, prepare and organize patient charts, and communicate with patients regarding test results and care plans. The position also involves scheduling procedures, labs, x-rays, and surgeries, providing pre- and post-surgery information, and assisting with patient outreach. Coordination of physician schedules and insurance pre-certifications are also key responsibilities, along with maintaining patient confidentiality and educating patients and families. The role promotes evidence-based resources, serves as a patient advocate, and assists in training new colleagues, with potential for cross-coverage in other clinic areas. Documentation of patient care plans and escalation of non-routine issues are also part of the duties. The role requires maintaining a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, and Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program.
