About The Position

The Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for providing active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings. This role involves acting as a professional and academic role model and committing to student satisfaction. The instructor will teach in classrooms, labs, and potentially outside the classroom during campus and student activities. This position delivers high-quality instruction, combining theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience, develops and implements curriculum, assesses student progress, and ensures adherence to industry standards and best practices. The role requires candidates with experience in phlebotomy, immunizations, venipuncture, injections, pharmacology, EKG, wound care, and vital signs.

Requirements

HS Diploma or GED (required)
Three years minimum experience as a Medical Assistant.
Expertise in the area of assignment that demonstrates the skills needed to provide instruction
Design and deliver engaging educational content, adapting teaching methods to diverse learning styles
Build rapport with students, clinical partners, and colleagues, fostering a positive learning environment
Flexibility to stay current with industry advancements and incorporate new knowledge into teaching practices
Competence in evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective instruction and interaction with students and colleagues
Commitment to ongoing learning and participation in professional growth opportunities
Experience in phlebotomy, immunizations, venipuncture, injections, pharmacology, EKG, wound care and vital signs.
Use hearing and sight (both near and far vision) frequently (80% or more of workday)
Communicate with students and provide direct instruction frequently (80% or more of workday)
Use fine motor skills to operate personal computers, manual and electrical equipment, as well as various diagnostic or procedure equipment occasionally (up to 50% of workday)
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with the assistance of mechanical interventions, students, or other employees rarely (less than 20% of workday)
Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to provide instruction in labs and demonstrate procedures rarely (less than 20% of workday)
Able and willing to communicate, think, learn, and reason
Able and willing to use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to process transactions, store documents, enter data, or perform assigned tasks
Able and willing to safely ambulate and/or maneuver when on-site at Company locations
Able and willing to demonstrate and utilize active listening, inductive reasoning, information ordering and category flexibility
Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information with discretion

Responsibilities

Organize and deliver class objectives in a clear, concise manner
Foster and maintain an orderly, controlled, and safe environment for students in classrooms and labs
Maintain and prepare training aids, tools, and equipment in the classroom and lab
Maintain curriculum accuracy by keeping up to date on industry standards and practices
Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and practical assessments
Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve academic and professional success
Identify and report on any at-risk students; creates individualized success plans to mitigate attrition
Foster relationships with students to help them meet program competency requirements
Provide periodic and ad-hoc reporting to stakeholders
Meet with students and education personnel to discuss instructional programs and related issues
Provide and maintain regular, substantive interaction with students in online course components
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress
Deliver engaging lectures and lab sessions on assigned topics, diagnostic procedures, equipment operation and troubleshooting, etc.
