Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, offering diverse care options. This role involves performing and overseeing clinical activities, maintaining patient flow, assisting with primary and preventative healthcare delivery, performing technical procedures, and adhering to lab protocols under physician/provider direction. The Medical Assistant III will also assist management in achieving office efficiencies, supporting physicians, clinic staff, and management with a focus on the 'Service First' philosophy. This role acts as an assistant to the physician/provider, managing patient care and collaborating with clerical staff for optimal operations. Interaction with outside healthcare facilities and agencies regarding patient care and insurance is expected. Maintaining updated competencies and the ability to discuss processes with leadership and accreditation bodies is crucial. Front office duties and providing coverage in other departments or locations as needed are also part of the role. Excellent customer service skills and support for patient and family-centered care are essential. Additionally, the Medical Assistant III will be formally assigned at least two additional responsibilities that constitute 20% or more of their dedicated time, such as primary care gaps in care identification, outreach, chart preparation, residency clinic roles, high-level disinfection, serving as a new hire preceptor, participating in special programs/grants, care management, acting as a qualified language interpreter, being a Super User for EPIC or specific competencies, or providing advanced provider support for complex procedures or scheduling.
