Prepares and maintains exam rooms, prepares charts, obtains reports and records; assists with patient flow and ensures the overall smooth running of the clinical office. This role involves direct patient interaction in a clinic setting, performing clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, conducting EKGs, performing phlebotomy, and verifying medications. The Medical Assistant will also prepare for office hours, assist with examinations and procedures, and may administer medications under physician or nurse practitioner orders. Responsibilities extend to managing patient flow, handling communications, assisting with care coordination, completing necessary documentation, and answering basic patient questions. The role also includes monitoring and maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment, cleaning exam rooms, and sterilizing instruments.
