This is a part-time Medical Assistant II position at Atrium Health Steele Creek Urgent Care. The role requires a minimum of 4 shifts every 6 weeks and open availability, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. The Medical Assistant will adhere to the scope of practice, follow policies and procedures, and maintain training and competency. Responsibilities include patient rooming tasks such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, medical history, health maintenance, allergy review, and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also assist providers with procedures, perform lab-related duties including venipuncture and specimen collection, and conduct Point of Care testing (POCT). They will administer medications and vaccines safely, and perform other duties such as medication refills, insurance authorizations, and patient messaging. Cross-training for relevant clinic duties is expected. Effective communication, teamwork, and maintaining a clean, stocked work environment are essential. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, understanding the principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
