About The Position
Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to caring for patients with purpose and integrity and providing team members with the support they need. This is a full-time Certified Medical Assistant II (MA II) position assisting healthcare professionals at their Buncombe County health centers: Hominy Valley Health Center and Minnie Jones Health Center. The clinics are open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 6 pm. MAs are not required to work evenings, nights, weekends, or WNCCHS observed holidays. MAs providing direct patient care may earn a quarterly bonus up to $500 by meeting or exceeding quality and productivity measures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as a Medical Assistant, required
- Phlebotomy experience required
- Current Basic Life Support Certificate, required
- Experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Nice To Haves
- One year experience as Medical Assistant in an outpatient health care setting, preferable
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
Responsibilities
