About The Position

Western NC Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant II (MA II) to assist healthcare professionals at their Buncombe County health centers. The role involves providing care to patients with purpose and integrity, and supporting team members. The MA II will float between Hominy Valley Health Center and Minnie Jones Health Center. Clinics are open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 6 pm, with no evening, night, weekend, or observed holiday work required for MAs. MAs providing direct patient care may be eligible for a quarterly bonus up to $500 based on quality and productivity measures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Current Basic Life Support Certificate
  • Experience documenting patient care in an electronic health record
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience as Medical Assistant in an outpatient health care setting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
