About The Position

Nemours Children’s Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II (MA II) to join our Administration Satellites team in Orlando, Florida. This is a float position requiring travel to multiple locations. The MA II serves as a crucial link between patients/families, providers, and the care team. Responsibilities include coordinating patient flow by assisting with clinical data collection and review for patient intake, ensuring providers have necessary information, and entering medical history into the record. The MA II also performs and assists with clinical procedures as directed by the provider and per protocol.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks.
• MA Certification required (Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)).
• American Heart Association BLS Certification within 90 days of hire date.

Nice To Haves

• MA school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating patient flow by assisting in clinical data collection and review for patient intake.
• Ensuring the appropriate information is available to the provider.
• Entering pertinent history in the medical record.
• Performing and assisting with clinical procedures in accordance with divisional/department responsibilities as directed by the provider and per protocol.
• Mentoring and training new Medical Assistants.
