Medical Assistant II Urgent Care
About The Position
The Medical Assistant Urgent Care is cross‑trained to perform a blend of administrative and clinical duties while working closely with providers, the office supervisor, and the practice manager. This role delivers professional, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced outpatient environment. Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association- within 90 days of hire
- For an MA, you must have one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Registry of Medical Assistants or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Performance Specialists (NPS)
Nice To Haves
- In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care in outpatient clinics—take vitals and histories, document visits, give vaccines and meds, draw blood, run tests, and help with medication reconciliation under supervision.
- Receive and document requests from internal and external customers, and respond professionally by phone, electronic message, or in person.
