About The Position

Under the supervision of medical staff, supports patient care through remote monitoring services, equipment management, and administrative support. This role is part of an innovative care model that helps patients stay connected to their healthcare team from the comfort of their own home. It combines direct patient support, technology, and administrative coordination in a dynamic role, making a meaningful impact on patient outcomes by supporting proactive monitoring and intervention. The Medical Assistant II will join a collaborative team dedicated to improving access, convenience, and quality of care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current Medical Assistant certification preferred, or ability to obtain within an established timeframe.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable working with technology and troubleshooting patient monitoring equipment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard office software.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, if required for job duties.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document patient data received through remote patient monitoring programs.
  • Monitor incoming patient information and ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
  • Assist patients with remote monitoring equipment setup and usage.
  • Troubleshoot remote patient monitoring devices and resolve basic technical issues.
  • Communicate patient concerns or abnormal findings to the appropriate clinical team members.
  • Maintain remote patient monitoring equipment and medical supplies, including stocking, cleaning, troubleshooting, and reordering as needed.
  • Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties, including scheduling, patient registration, reception, filing, data entry, and prior authorization support.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and completion of required records and reports.
  • Support departmental workflows to promote efficient patient care and operations.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business when required.
